a blog about a family with members who's names include Elena, Esther, Evan, Lindsay and Nina (in alphabetic order).
Two days ago I woke up to this face next to mine in bed:
See the swelling just the left of his right eye? I tried but a picture doesn't quite capture it. There are no words for it. Can you see the change? It's crazy how a slightly enlarged nose bridge/smaller eye can change an entire face. Poor Evan's face has changed. We mutually agree that he has sort of taken on goat-like features. Sort of like Tumnus in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. He's a faun. I have a faun husband! I also keep thinking back on the peasant-turned goat man in the movie Stardust. After a while laughing (trying not to be rude) Evan started jumping around the room like a fawn and I lost all control. Can laughing too hard damage a baby in utero? I was in pain. I sure hope not. (by the way our baby girl is due in only 6 weeks!!!)It's hard to take him seriously! It's kind of like how a few weeks ago he had plugged ears from a cold and I sounded like a robot to him for the whole day. He couldn't take me seriously. Luckily that was temporary.
How did this happen, you ask? Apparently a zealous zit is building up under his skin, pulling all the skin around it up like a tent. I've never seen anything like it. He hasn't either, and he says it is really bothersome because he can feel how swollen it looks. The poor guy got lots of laughs today at Comic Frenzy practice. I'm sorry Evan for the trouble you're going through. (including this post) You know that I would still love you even if you turned into a goat.
